For Goodness Sake came into being as a vehicle to close funding gaps in the services that our neighbors experiencing homelessness encounter. In examining Eau Claire’s service gaps, it is evident that there is not enough funding available to get people off the streets into appropriate levels of stable housing. It is also true that Eau Claire can do a much better job of demanding and rewarding effective service delivery. 

It is our intention to operate in a different way. Service providers who apply for For Goodness Sake funds will identify the challenges they experience in their service array to people experiencing homelessness and solve them through collaboration, innovation and most importantly, measures for effectiveness. 

For Goodness Sake will invite applications in two grant cycles: The applications for the first grant cycle begins June 15 and ends July 31 with the awards announced by August 31. The applications for the second grant cycle begins December 15 and ends January 31 with the awards announced by February 28.

For Goodness Sake anticipates awarding $1 million in grants in the first year, 2026.
